Allen McLain didn’t grow up in a farming family but chose it believing that a rewarding pursuit could be had, as long as he put in the work. His efforts, along with those of his wife Laura, have resulted in a family business which now involves his sons Allen Jr., John and Ryan who together farm over 3,000 acres of rice per year in Vermilion Parish. The McLain family is proud to be part of the rich tradition of rice cultivation in Vermilion Parish and is dedicated to conserving its environment and quality of life.
