SUPREME RICE PARTNERING WITH USDA ON PARTNERSHIPS FOR CLIMATE SMART COMMODITIES
Supreme Rice has a long history of working with rice farmers for developing and maintaining sustainable farming practices. We recognize that developing incentives to drive change in agricultural practices is imperative to future generations. These incentives will spur the agricultural industry into action and make meaningful positive impacts on our climate. With uncertainties of climate change and water availability, any work to extend and preserve the longevity of our nation’s rice farmers is Supreme’s goal in serving our domestic food markets.
Supreme Rice's Climate-Smart Initiative reduces methane emissions in rice production and will also positively impact other sustainability metrics such as water conservation. A priority is given to creating awareness of climate-smart practices available to rice growers, large and small and subsequently to educate consumers. With uncertainties of climate change and water availability, any work to extend and preserve the longevity of our nation’s rice farmers is Supreme’s goal in serving our domestic food markets. The large-scale adoption of climate-smart practices by rice growers will create a solid foundation of supply from which market development of climate-smart rice can begin.
